Paragraph Spacing

Use paragraph spacing to create white space above and below paragraphs illiminating the need to insert blank lines to obtain spacing.

Word 2007 uses 11pt after spacing by default.

Apply Paragraph Spacing

  1. Select the paragraph you want to change
  2. Click the Page Layout tab on the Ribbon
  3. Enter the required spacing in the Before: and After: boxes in the Paragraph group
  4. Applying After spacing to a paragraph

Use the Paragraph Dialogue Box

Paragraph spacing can also be applied using the Paragraph dialogue box.

  1. Select the paragraph you want to change
  2. Click the dialogue box launcher arrow in the corner of the Paragraph group on the Home or Page Layout tabs
  3. Apply After spacing using the Paragraph dialogue box

  4. Enter the required Before: and After: spacing
  5. Click Ok
