Apply Styles to a Document

Styles are a collection of formatting that can be applied at the click of a button. The use of styles for formatting documents has many advantages over direct formatting. These include:

  • Styles provide consistency in formatting throughout a document
  • Styles are quicker to apply than selecting the required formatting options individually from the Ribbon
  • If the formatting of the style is changed, all occurances of the styles in the document is updated to include the new formatting settings

Apply a Style

  1. Select the text you want to apply the style to
  2. Click the Home tab on the Ribbon
  3. Click on the Style you want to apply from the Style Gallery
  4. Apply a style from the style gallery
