Use Workgroup Templates

Workgroup templates allow several users to share the same templates. Workgroup templates are typically saved in a folder which is then made available on a shared network drive. This folder can then be conveniently accessed by all the members of a team or department.

Set Up Workgroup Templates

  1. Create a folder on a shared network drive and store the templates you want to make available inside it
  2. Click Tools > Options
  3. Click the File Locations tab
  4. A list of default locations for different file types in Microsoft Word appears

  5. Select Workgroup templates from the list
  6. Click Modify
  7. The Modify Location dialogue box appears

  8. Select the folder that the templates are stored within in the Look in: box
  9. Select a folder for new location of workgroup templates

  10. Click Ok
  11. Click Ok again to close the Options dialogue box

These templates will now appear in the Templates dialogue box when accessing it through File > New
