Using Themes
You can apply a theme and also create your own theme for any new or existing presentations.
Apply a Theme to all slides
You can apply a new Theme to a presentation without changing the existing content of the slides.
Multiple Themes can be used within a presentation. This in turn creates multiple Slide Masters.
- Click the Design tab of the Ribbon
- Right mouse click on the Theme you want to apply
- Select Apply to All Slides in the list that appears

Apply a Theme to selected slides
- Select the slides that you want to apply the Theme to
- Right mouse click on the Theme you want to use
- Select Apply to Selected Slides from the list
When you point the mouse to a theme, a tooltip lets you know what slides of the presentation use that theme
The first themes shown in the Themes gallery are those currently used within the presentation
Apply a Theme to matching slides
If you are using multiple themes in a presentation, you can change the theme of all slides using that particular theme.
- Select a slide that uses the theme you wish to change
- Right mouse click on the theme you want to use
- Select Apply to Matching Slides from the list
Create new Theme Colours or Fonts
You can create a new theme built from your own set of colours and fonts. This can be very useful when you need to apply your companies colour scheme and font to presentations.
- Click the Design tab on the Ribbon
- Click the Theme Colors or Theme Fonts button in the Themes group
- Click either Create New Theme Colors or Create New Theme Fonts fom the list
- Select the colours or fonts you want to use
- Enter a name for the new colour or font scheme in the Name text box
- Click Save
A dialogue box appears allowing you to choose your own theme colours or fonts
Create a New Theme
You can create your own theme by saving a combination of theme colours, fonts and effects.
- Apply the theme colours, fonts and effects that you want to use to current presentation
- Click the Design tab on the Ribbon
- Click the More button in the Themes group
- Click Save Current Theme
- Type a name for the new theme in the File name: field of the Save Current Theme dialogue box
- Click the Save button
