Saving a Presentation

It is good practice to save your presentation as soon as you can, and then to regularly save it to protect against data loss.

To save the presentation:

  1. Click File > Save, or press Ctrl + S
  2. If you are saving the presentation for the first time, the Save As dialogue box will appear.

  3. Select a location to save the presentation in, and enter meaningful file name which will make recognising this presentation easy in the future
  4. Click Save
  5. The Title Bar now displays the name of the presentation.

From now on whenever you save the presentation, PowerPoint will update the presentation previously saved.

If you need to save the presentation to a different location or under a different name, click Save As from the File menu and follow the procedure as before. This will create another copy of the presentation.
