Creating a New Slide
Every slide is based on a slide layout. Normally a new presentation starts with a Title slide layout. This is used to introduce the presentation subject and speaker to the audience.
When a new slide is inserted, PowerPoint inserts the default slide layout. This can then be changed using the Slide Layout task pane.
To insert a new slide:
- Click the New Slide button on the Formatting toolbar
- Click Insert > New Slide
A new slide is inserted based on the Bulleted List slide layout. This is the default slide layout for all slides in a presentation, except for the first slide which defaults to the Title slide layout.
A new slide can also be inserted by pressing Ctrl + M
