Using Slide Sorter View

Slide Sorter view shows a miniature version of each slide of the presentation on screen. This gives a better overall perspective of the presentation making it perfect for moving, hiding and deleting slides.

Slides cannot be edited within Slide Sorter view. To edit a slide, you will need to return to Normal view

Switch to Slide Sorter view

  • Click the Slide Sorter button on the left of the Status Bar
  • Slide Sorter button

    Or

  • Click View > Slide Sorter

Move a Slide

  1. Click the slide that you wish to move to select it
  2. To select more than one slide, hold down the Ctrl key whilst clicking each slide

  3. Click and drag the slide to a new location
  4. When you move the pointer between slides, a vertical bar appears indicating the location the slides will be inserted.

  5. Release the mouse button when the vertical bar is positioned where you wish to insert the slides

Copy a slide

  1. Click the slide(s) that you wish to copy to select it
  2. Press and hold the Ctrl key whilst dragging the slide(s) to a new location
  3. When you move the pointer between slides, a vertical bar appears indicating the location the slides will be inserted.

  4. Release the mouse button when the vertical bar is positioned where you wish to insert the slides

Pressing Ctrl + D is a quick way of duplicating a slide, which can then be dragged to another location of the presentation.

The Cut, Copy and Paste buttons can also be used to move and copy slides within the presentation.

Delete a slide

  1. Click the slide that you wish to delete
  2. Click Edit > Delete Slide or press the Delete key

If a slide is deleted by mistake, it can be restored by clicking the Undo button or pressing Ctrl + Z.

Working in Normal view

Moving, copying and deleting slides can be performed in the same manner using the thumbnails on the left hand side of the screen in Normal view.
