Updating a PivotTable
If changes are made to the source data that the PivotTable is based on, the PivotTable needs to be manually refreshed. It does not update automatically.
Refresh PivotTable data
- Select a cell in the PivotTable
- Click the Options tab under PivotTable Tools on the Ribbon
- Click the Refresh button in the Data group
The PivotTable updates with the changes made to the source data
Change PivotTable data source
It is possible to change the source data that the PivotTable is based on.
- Select a cell in the PivotTable
- Click the Options tab under PivotTable Tools on the Ribbon
- Click the Change Data Source button in the Data group
- Select a new range and click Ok
The Change PivotTable Data Source dialogue box appears
The current data source appears in the Table/Range field and a moving dotted line surrounds the range on the sheet.
The PivotTable updates with the data from its new source.
