Joining Cell Data

The Concatenate function is used to join data from different cells into one.

The syntax for the Concatenate function is:

=CONCATENATE(Text1, [Text2], ...)

Text1, Text 2 and so on can refer to text, a number or a cell reference. Concatenate can accept up to 255 of these arguments.

The example below demonstrates the Concatenate function being used to join text from two cells into one.

Double quotation marks with a space between them is used to insert a space into the cell between the firstname and lastname.
